Dr. Dayna Wiedenkeller


Dr. Dayna Wiedenkeller hails from the “Big Apple” - she was born and raised in New York. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 1988. Following veterinary school, Dr. Wiedenkeller completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery and a residency in small animal internal medicine at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Wiedenkeller is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and is board certified in small animal internal medicine. Dr. Wiedenkeller worked as an internal medicine consultant and cytologist at Antech (formerly Professional Animal Laboratory) for 6 years before joining Community Veterinary Hospital (CVH) in 2000. 


Dr. Dayna loves all that encompasses veterinary medicine from complicated internal medicine and dermatology cases to puppy and kitten exams and everything in between. She also enjoys participating in our state and national veterinary association leadership. Dr. Wiedenkeller was President of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA) and a member of the SCVMA Board of Trustees, She is a past President of the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and was a member of the CVMA House of Delegates and the CVMA Board of Governors. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) State Advocacy Committee, multiple CVMA committees, and she is Co-Chair of the CVMA Legislative Committee. Dr. Dayna also enjoys mentoring and training veterinary students from Western University College of Veterinary Medicine during their clinical rotations at CVH. 


Dr. Dayna’s “outside” interests often bring her back to CVH as she enjoys working on projects for the practice! Dr. Dayna enjoys spending time with family and friends, and their mischievous dog Marley.
