Dr. Glenn Ericson


Dr. Glenn Ericson was born in North Carolina and moved to Santa Ana, California at 5 years old. Dr. Ericson proudly served in the United States Army as a military policemen on the DMZ in Korea. After his service, Dr. Ericson returned to Cal Poly, Pomona to complete his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. Dr. Ericson received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the School of Veterinary Medicine at University of California, Davis in 1980. Upon graduating from UC Davis, Dr. Ericson joined the staff at Community Veterinary Hospital (CVH). For 40 years, Dr. Ericson has been a cherished veterinarian at CVH and is fondly known as “Dr. E, the cat doctor”. 


Throughout his career, Dr. Ericson has given back to the veterinary community. He served as president of Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA) and was on the SCVMA Board of Trustees for 7 years. Dr. Ericson also served on the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) House of Delegates and was on the CVMA Board of Governors for 6 years. Dr. Ericson also served on the Animal Health Foundation Board and the SCVMA Grievance Committee for several years. For 5 years, he wrote articles for the OC Register and LA Times as “Ask the Vet.” 


Dr. E and his wife Debbie, who also worked at CVH, share their home with their many cats. Dr. E has three children and seven grandchildren and enjoys spending time with them. He also has many hobbies, including photography, traveling, cooking, US history, planes, motorcycles and sports (Go Steelers!). 


After more than 40 years as a veterinarian at CVH, Dr. Ericson recently retired from full-time practice but his grateful clients and staff are hoping he will stop by and visit occasionally!
